David Kuperberg is a respected leader and innovator in property management. Under his direction, Cooper Square Realty has become the premier management company in New York and a driving force in improving industry standards, professionalism and services.

Since forming Cooper Square Realty in 1987, David has led the march toward professionalizing the property management industry. He is a vocal advocate of training and certification and has earned the industry's highest designations of Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and Advanced Registered Apartment Manager (RAM).

David's performance and achievements have been recognized by numerous organizations. The company has twice been honored as "Management Company of the Year" by the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York (ABO), the only two-time recipient. The New York Building Managers Association named Cooper Square Realty "Management Company of the Year" in 2007 and both Cooper Square and its subsidiary, Wentworth Property Management of New York, have received similar awards by the Federation of New York Cooperatives. Community Access honored David with their prestigious Access-Ability Award and The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named him Registered Apartment Manager of the Year. The greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) honored David as Humanitarian of the Year and Cooper Square Realty received IREM's "Accredited Management Organization of the Year" award. ABO, with the Boy Scouts of America, named Kuperberg their Honoree at the Harold J. Kalikow Memorial Camp Reception. The Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives and Condominiums conferred on him their Honorary Members Award.

David authored Residential Property Management Principles and Practices, published by the NAHB, which is required reading for NAHB's nationwide RAM Certification Program.

He is a frequent guest speaker at industry events, has appeared on television on NBC, Fox, WPIX and Court TV, and written articles for Real Estate Weekly, The Cooperator, Habitat Magazine and The Mann Report. David has been quoted extensively in The New York Times and other publications.

David serves on the Real Estate Board of New York's Residential Management Council, is a Life Governor and past Chair of the Board of Governors of the Registered Apartment Managers and is on the executive committee and past president of the Greater New York chapter IREM. He chaired the State Licensing of Property Managers Subcommittee of the NAHB and authored a study of state licensing practices throughout the U.S. David is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in New York State. He is a board member the Building Owners' and Managers' Association of Greater New York (BOMA) and Vice President of Community Access.

David was a civil engineer with the national engineering/architecture firm of Lockwood-Greene. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida.
